At least 3 Hamilton homes raided by Toronto Police early Thursday

A Toronto Police raid targeting guns and gangs involved more than 40 search warrants across the GTA and Hamilton Thursday morning. Toronto Police are calling the raid "Project Pharoah."

At least three ofthe addresses raided werein Hamilton, CBC News has confirmed.

The raid took place around 5 a.m. Thursday. Toronto Police will be releasingmore information about the raid later in the morning.

The raid comes after 19people, including three Hamiltonians, associated with the 'Ndrangheta criminal organization were arrested and charged with numerous offences early Tuesday.

The three Hamilton men implicated in that raidare charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, while onewas additionally charged with careless storage of a firearm and ammunition.
