Facebook invitation turns house party into street fight

Facebook helpedgenerate more attention for a weekend house party than its host had anticipated, causing it to erupt into a street fight, police say.

News of the party, planned at a house on Jacqueline Blvd. and Magenta Ct. Saturday night,was passed between friends online. Itquickly attracted a large group of youths, many of whom didn't know the host.

Afight broke out between two groups of male youths and spilled out onto the street.

Police were called around 11:30 p.m.with reports that members of one of the groups had been badly beaten.The fight had broken up by the time police arrived.

One 18-year-old male victim was taken to hospital for a non-life-threatening facial injury.

Police are continuing to investigate.
