Impaired driver fell asleep in McDonalds drive thru, police say

Police say people spotted a driver asleep in the drive thru and called them.

A Hamilton man is charged with impaired driving after police say a driver was found asleep behind the wheel ata McDonalds drive thru.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 7. Witnesses told police a man was asleep in the drive thru at 852 Upper Gage Ave.

Police say they found the car parked elsewhere at McDonalds with the driver asleep behind the wheel. The officer gave the man a roadside breath test and found the driver over the legal limit. The driver also failed breath tests at the police station.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

A 53-year-old man is charged with impaired driving.
