Man sent to hospital after swarming in McDonalds parking lot

Man attacked by at least 10 people early Sunday morning.

One man was taken to hospital after being swarmed early on Sunday morning.

Police said three friends were attacked just after midnight in the parking lot of the McDonalds at King Street and Main Street.

Between 10 and 15 people approached the group, and attacked them when they got up to try and leave.

One man fell to the ground and was beaten while having his cellphone stolen and backpack emptied on the ground.

The group fled soon after, and the victim was taken to hospital to be treated for a head laceration.

Its the second time this summer that someone has been swarmed in the same parking lot, said police.

In late June, a couple was swarmed by over 100 children after the Its Your Festival in Gage Park, said police.

Security video of the more recent attack is being reviewed by police.
