Road rage driver throws bottle, hits baby

A road rage incident Friday saw a man throw a partially full water bottle through the open window of a car, hitting a one-year-old child.

Hamilton Police investigating Oct. 3 incident

A man angry at the cautious driving of a woman ahead of him threw a water bottle at her car thathit her infant child,according to the Hamilton Police Service.

The incident happened Friday when awoman who waited to turn right on a red lightso angered the man driving behind her he pursed her car and cut her off, ultimately throwinga water bottle at her car, which went in the window and hit her baby.

The woman was driving near West 5th Street and FennellAvenue. While she waited to turn right on the red light, the man behind her in a silver Mazda 6 accelerated around her vehicle to cut her off, while giving her the finger.

He threw a coffee cup at her car. But that apparently didn't satisfy his road rage.

Next he threw a partially full water bottle at the car. The bottle went into the car through the back window and struck the driver's 1-year-old child.

The Mazda 6 driver fled. The woman driving with her son took him to the hospital as a precaution. She called police and gave them a description: The Mazda 6 was driven by a man in his 30s, with short dark brown hair, scruffy facial hair with a thick build.

Hamilton Police are investigating.
