Hamilton police make arrest in January hit-and-run that killed man, 70, and his dog
The driver, 32, faces four charges
Hamilton police say they arresteda 32-year-old Hamilton man, six weeks after a hit-and-run in the Glenview West neighbourhood that killed a man and his dog.
Police say a 70-year-old and hisdog were believed to be crossingLawrence Roadnear Cochrane Road in the city's east end on Jan. 30 at 8:30 p.m.
The driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck coming eastboundhit them both and fled the scene.
The dog died at the scene and police said the man died in hospital.
The man arrestedis facing four charges:
- Fail to Stop Cause Death
- Operation While Prohibited
- Fail to Comply Probation
- Fail to Comply Probation
The accused's bail was opposed, according to police.
