Its not even officially winter yet, but Hamilton has already broken a cold record.

Its -10.9 C in Hamilton this morning, with a bitter wind chill of -22 C. That makes it the coldest day on record since data started being collected at the airport in 1959.

The previous record was -9.4 C set on that date.

Thats well below the average minimum temperature of -0.7 C. For those wondering, the average maximum temperature on Nov. 18 is a balmy 6.4 C.

The high is -5 C.

Tonights forecast is calling for a low of -9 C with a 30 per cent chance of flurries.

Expect 5 cm of snow tomorrow and a high of -1 C.
