Police lay firearm, drug charges after Niagara Falls armed robbery

An investigation into an armed robbery at a Niagara Falls home in late January has concluded with three men being charged, according to the Niagara Regional Police Service.

An investigation into an armed robbery at a Niagara Falls home in late January has ended with three men being charged, according to theNiagara Regional Police Service.

One of the three men faces numerous charges, including possession and use of a restricted firearm.

He was also allegedly responsible for a shooting at a St. Catharines residence in late February, Niagara police said,and is wanted by the Hamilton Police Service on "a number of outstanding arrest warrants."

Another man allegedly involved in the Niagara Falls robbery faces similar charges, in addition to charges related to possession of illegal substances such asfentanyland crystal meth for the purposes of trafficking.

19 charges laid

The search warrant executed at his home led to a woman unrelated to the Niagara Falls robbery being charged with possession of heroin for the purposes of trafficking.

She has been released from custody and is expected to appear in courton May 2.

The third man only facesarmed robbery charges.

"In total, the Niagara Regional Police Service has laid 19 criminal charges in respect to this investigation that involved acts of violenceand the trafficking of various drugs," police said in a media release.

All three men are awaiting bail hearings, police said.
