Worker at Frank's No Frills in Hamilton tests positive for COVID-19

The store on Rymal Road closed Monday to clean the building after discovering an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Management says the employee hasn't been in the store since April 9 and didn't display symptoms while working.

Frank's No Frills in Hamilton says an employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The store on Rymal Road closed Monday to clean the building and released a statement on social media about the worker who "tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19."

Management saysthe infected employee has not been in the store since April 9 and did not show any symptoms while at work.

No Frillssaidit undergoesdaily sanitization and social distancing practices. Management said it was also reviewing previous shifts and asking employees who could have been infected to self-monitor for symptoms.

The store has re-opened.

Hamilton public health will not confirm any cases related to businesses or places of residence, making it unclear if this case is included in the total count.

As of Wednesday, Hamilton had 271 confirmed and five probablecases of COVID-19. The virus has hospitalized 38 people and killed 10 in Hamilton.
