Person injured in midnight shooting in east end

Police are investigating a shooting that happened around midnight near Quigley Road and Albright Avenue in East Hamilton.

The incident is believed to be targeted.

Police were called just after midnight Friday morning. They discerned that a disagreement had escalated into a fight between people who knew each other, and a gun was fired.

One person suffered a gunshot wound "to the lower body", police said, and was taken to hospital. The second person was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
