Snowbirds fly over Hamilton, Niagara, Brantford as part of 'Operation Inspiration'

Residents in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara turned their eyes to the skies Sunday afternoon as theCanadian Forces Snowbirds flew over the region as part of "Operation Inspiration."

Team asked people to 'observe the flyovers from the safety of their home'

Residents in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara turned their eyes to the skies Sunday afternoon as theCanadian Forces Snowbirds flew over the region as part of "Operation Inspiration."

The Snowbirds were originallyscheduled to soar over the area on Saturday, butsnow and hail kept the planes groundedin Trenton.

The planfor Sunday sawthe Snowbirds leave Trenton around 9:30 a.m. and land in Toronto an hour later.

They tookoff again at 12:45 p.m and headedto London by way of Burlington, Hamilton, Grimsby, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Brantford.

Theschedule has the Snowbirds leaving London at 4:15 p.m., heading north to Stratford, then going east over Kitchener and Guelph before going north to Collingwood and finally landing in Barrie at about 5:15 p.m.

Actual times and the exact route could vary and the Snowbirds askpeople to monitor their social media accounts.

Thetour of Canadais a way to boost morale during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Snowbirds Facebook page asks people not to travel to see the airdemonstration team and instead "observe the flyovers from the safety of their home."
