Pelham man driving 66 km/h over the speed limit had alcohol in his system: police
'A combination of speed, alcohol and limited driving experience can be a deadly mix,' warn police
A Pelham, Ont. man who was allegedly driving 66 km/h over the speed limit after consuming alcohol, has had his licence suspended and car impounded for seven days.
The 20 year old was driving 146 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Victoria Road in West Lincoln around 1:25 a.m. Monday, according to Niagara Regional Police.
The officer who pulled the man over conducted a roadside test and found the young driver had alcohol in his system.
The man has been charged with stunting, speeding and being a novice driver with a blood alcohol level above zero.
"A combination of speed, alcohol and limited driving experience can be a deadly mix," warned the police service.
