Woman charged with impaired driving in ATV crash that injured kids: Niagara police
One child was airlifted to hospital, but is expected to survive
A Wainfleet woman has been charged, police say,with impaired driving after rolling an ATVwith two children on the back.
The 27-year-old was driving theATVnear DeeksRoad South and Forks Road in Welland around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, when she lost control and rolled into the ditch, according to Niagara Regional Police.
Both kids were wearing helmets, but one of the children was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
Police say thatchild is expected to survive. The other child was not seriously injured.
Police not releasing woman's name
The woman has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in her blood and dangerous driving of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
Police are not releasing her name to protect the identities of the children involved in the crash.
