Adaptive paddleboarding at Paul Lake (Jennifer Chrumka/CBC)

It's nothing new to see paddleboarders out on Paul Lake just outside Kamloops.

But yesterday, for the first time, the beach was crowded with spectators watching a group of people with disabilities set out on the water.

A company called Access Revolution co-hosted a public event along with local business Paddle Surfit for people in wheelchairs to try the sport.

Daybreak's Jennifer Chrumka was there.
