Devin Gambler, Aboriginal Co-Chair of HomeFree (CBC)

The final tally is in for this year's homeless count in Kamloops.

Back in October, volunteers with ASK Wellness combed the city and parks counting the homeless people they found.

This year's total is 106, that's up from just over 70 last year.

Ken Salter is an outreach worker with ASK Wellness who has been involved with the count for the past 10 years.

He tells Daybreak what stood out for him this year and then we hear from Devin Gambler, the Aboriginal co-chair for Home Free, a multi-sector community group dedicated to ending homelessness in Kamloops.
