Earlier in December the Kamloops Homeless Count numbers were revealed.

Every year volunteers walk back alleys and parking lots, search under bridges and along the river.

This year, they counted 106 homeless people, and we heard that is just a fraction of who's out there.

There's a much larger number of people referred to as the "hidden homeless," many of them are youth.

Kamloops' Katherine McParland has dedicated herself to working with homeless youth.

Daybreak's Jennifer Chrumka met up with Katherine to hear about what's being done to address the issue.
