Kamloops tire shop busy helping drivers prepare for winter

Drivers in B.C. are required to have winter tires on highways across the province during the winter months starting on October 1st and that's lead to some busy times at a Kamloops tire shop.

Tire shops around Kamloops are already booked solid as drivers switch over to winter tires.

Winter tires have better traction on snow and ice because they retain their elasticity in colder temperatures than all-season radials or summer tires.

Proper snow tires are now required on highways across the province.There's a fine for procrastinators.Up to $121 dollars for not having the right tires on vehicles.Daybreak's Shelley Joyce dialed up a local dealer to get on the tire change-over waiting list.
