Students at South Sahali Elementary were treated to Bannock, as part of a National Aboriginal Day celebration ((Pinterest User))

It was a celebration of culture, as diverse as Canada itself.

The staff and students at South Sahali Elementary School had many reasons to celebrate.

First, it was National Aboriginal Day this past Sunday.

And Wednesday, was Saint Jean Baptiste Day, celebrated widely in French Canadian culture.

So the school combined them.

The students were treated to Bannock Ball, First Nations Drumming and, of course, maple syrup.

Daybreak's Tara Copeland stopped by the French immersion school to ask the kids what the day meant to them.
