Kinder Morgan has just announced a funding partnership with Thompson Rivers University $500,000over the next 20years in student awards and scholarships.

Both the university and the company insist that this agreement does not translate to the university's support for the Trans-Mountain pipeline expansion.

But Michael Mehta says, the deal is an embarassment.

He's a professor at TRU and the former Dean of Arts.
