Groundhog Day trivia: Badgers, bears and hedgehogs part of lore

Groundhog Day 2016 saw contradictory predictions from Canadian and American critters. Plus, the untimely death of Manitoba's favourite weather-rodent marred the day on the prairies. There's more Groundhog Day trivia in our interactive history.

Ontario's WiartonWillie predicted a longer winter. Nova Scotia'sShubenacadie Sam lined up with Pennsylvania's PunxsutawneyPhil to predict an early spring.

And Manitoba's groundhog, Willow, died the weekend before the momentous day and had no prediction this year.
