Body of missing 24-year-old Wilmot man found in Nith River

Ontario Provincial Police have found the body of a 24-year-old man from Wilmot Township, who was reported missing on Monday.

Waterloo Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police have found the body of a 24-year-old man from Wilmot Townshipwho was reported missing on Monday.

Members of the OPP's under water search and recovery unit found the body of Andreas Pfenning while conducting a search of the NithRiver Thursday afternoon.

"Officers focused on an area within a 1 kilometre radius of where it's believed Mr. Pfenningentered the water, and it was in this location where the body was found," Cherri Greenomedia relations coordinator with theWRPS told CBC News.

Greeno said officers are waiting for a coroner to arrive on scene to determine the cause of death.

Pfenning wasreported missing Monday after he left his home to gogoose hunting and hadn't been seensince.

Over 100 people volunteered tosearch for Pfenning this past week.

"Our thoughts go out tothe family of Mr.Pfenning as well as friends and all of the members of the community who took time and came out over the past few days," Greeno said.
