A federal election has been called and Canadians will go to the polls on Sept. 20.

In Waterloo region in 2019, all five ridings were won by Liberals. Four of the five ridings are still held by Liberals with the exception of Kitchener South-Hespeler, where MP Marwan Tabbara left the Liberal party after being charged with assault in the spring of 2020.

Guelph is also held by a Liberal, while the Conservatives hold the seats in Wellington-Halton Hills and Perth Wellington.
