New bus service will connect Waterloo, Kitchener and Guelph to Toronto

Europe-based FlixBus is offering free wifi and power outlets at every seat as its set to make its debut in Ontario next month with stops in Waterloo region, Guelph and Toronto.

A new bus service launches in Ontario next monthwith stops in Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph and Toronto.

FlixBus, which was founded in Germany, says it will offerfree wifi and power outlets at every seat as the company expands intoCanada following its success in the U.S. and Brazil.

As of April 7, FlixBus will offer daily service from Waterloo region and Guelph to Toronto corridor.

Stops include:

  • The University of Waterloo.
  • Downtown Kitchener.
  • The Guelph bus station.

The company will also have routes headed between Niagara Falls and Toronto and there will be express service from Ottawa to Toronto.

"Ontario is a dream bus market with some of North America's most vibrant cities and we are immensely happy to begin building connections here," the company's North America managing director Pierre Gourdain said in a statement about the new routes.

"We also hope, the service will offer Ontarians a financial reprieve in a context of rising gas prices with a green mobility alternative to help riders rediscover this wonderful province."

The company plans to offer cross-border routes from Ontario to the U.S. this summer.
