Flooding in Southwestern Ontario, pictures and video

Significant rainfall and snow melt around the Grand River watershed has caused flooding in and around townships and cities in Brantford and Waterloo region.

Flooding in the Grand River watershedbetween Cambridge andBrantfordwassimilar to flood levels experienced in June of 2017, Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA)said in a release.

Parts of Brantfordhave been ordered to evacuate due to watershed flooding conditions, city officials said.

In a tweet posted Wednesday morning, the city said that residents, schools and businesses in the areas of Holmedale, West Brant and Eagle Place have to evacuate.

Flooding extends to London, Chatham-Kent

The citiesof Londonand Chatham-Kent have also been experiencing flooding.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for London and several roads are closed in that city.

Severalroads have also been closed in Chatham-Kent and municipal officials are warning businesses in the downtown areato expectbasement flooding.
