An 18-year-old Guelph man has been charged after police say scissors were brandished during a road rage confrontation on Monday morning.

At 11:20 a.m., the people inside two separate vehicles were on Paisley Road when they became involved in a verbal altercation, police said in a release. Both vehicles continued onto the Hanlon Expressway, then exited at Willow Road when an object was thrown from one car to the other.

Both vehicles pulled over and another argument took place. During that confrontation, one man opened the passenger side door of the victim's car and flashed a pair of scissors, police said.

The victim left the area and was able to flag down a passing police car. Officers spoke to those involved in the confrontation. The man who allegedly brandished the scissors was arrested.

An 18-year-old Guelph man has been charged with having a dangerous weapon and breaching a Youth Criminal Justice Act probation.
