Guelph man charged with 2nd-degree murder after woman was found dead in her apartment

A Guelph man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in her apartment on Saturday.

Police say a man walked into station Saturday and gave information that led to discovery

A Guelph, Ont., man has beencharged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in her apartment on Saturday.

Police say a man walked into the Guelph police station just before 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. He was "suffering from obvious injuries," said a release sent out by police on Monday.

"Based on information provided, officers attended an apartment unit near Waterloo Avenue and Edinburgh Road S. where they found a female deceased," the release said.

The two people are known to each other, police said, adding there is no further threat to public safety.

The man, 50, was set to appear in court by video on Tuesday.
