Guelph police continue to investigate fatal shooting at Comfort Inn

Aly Sunderani, 35, died in hospital after he was shot in the parking lot of the Comfort Inn in Guelph's north end. The investigation into his death is ongoing.

Guelph police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old hotel employee in the city's north end earlier this month.

Const. MikeGattotold CBC News the investigating is ongoing and they are still hoping to get information from anyone who may have seen anything that afternoon.

Officers were called to the Comfort Inn on Silvercreek Parkway North at 4:30 p.m. on March 1 after reports a man had been shot in the parking lot.

Aly Sunderani, the 35-year-old hotel general manager, was found near the front entrance with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital but died that night.

Police said a small black SUV was seen leaving the scene. Police also said it appeared the shooting was targeted and there was no threat to the general public.
