Deadly batch of purple fentanyl circulating, warn Guelph police

Guelph police are warning the public of a strong and deadly batch of purple fentanyl that is being distributed and consumed in the community.

Police say they have responded to two overdoses and they suspect purple fentanyl is involved

Guelph police are warning the public of a strong and deadly batch of purple fentanylthat is being distributed and consumed in the community.

Purple fentanyl is a combination of fentanyl and other drugs in this case, police suspect heroin is being added.

Police said they have responded to two overdoses in the last few days, and they suspect purple fentanyl is involved.

In a press release, they strongly discouraged residents from using these illegal drugs, but also reminded those who are using drugs to visit the overdose prevention site, located in the Guelph Community Health Centre.
