Kitchener's Everest College to be sold

The Kitchener campus of Everest College is up for sale after U.S. lawmakers forced the college's American parent company to sell or shut down its operations in the U.S. after allegations of falsified grade data and job placements.

The Kitchener campus of Everest College is among the 14 Canadian campuses up for saleafter the colleges U.S. parent company Corinthian Colleges reached an agreement with American lawmakers to sell or shut down the school's U.S. locations following allegations of falsified grade data and job placements.

Kent Jenkins, arepresentative for Corinthian Colleges, saidthe parent company is currently looking for a buyer that can continue operations on the Kitchener campus.

Jenkins added current students will be able to finish their studies, and prospective students looking to begin in the new academic year will be supported.

The campus offers a number of programs for people looking to enter fields such as law enforcement, dentistry and business administration.

The company says a new buyer for the campus is expected to be found in the next six months.
