Kitchener Titans name Serge Langis as head coach

The Kitchener Titans have named Serge Langis as the team's head coach for its inaugural season.

The Kitchener Titans havenamed Serge Langis as the team's head coach for its inaugural season, according to an announcement made Tuesday morning.

Langis, who works full-time as a teacher, served as thebasketball coach of the Moncton Miracles until February, when he was dropped by the team.

The Moncton Miracles wished him well and thanked him for his leadership.

"Serge helped the organization through some very trying times last season, and despite the challenges that [were] created, he was instrumental in putting together what we believe to be a very solid team this year. At this time, the team simply believes that is time for a change," the Miracles management said in a release.

The Kitchenerteam became an addition to the National Basketball League of Canada in June, and was named the Titans in July, when Stu Julius was named general manager. Juliushas collegiate, international and professional basketball experience, the team said in a release.

The KW Titans are owned by majority shareholder Ball Construction and minority shareholders Innosoft Canada and Elmira entrepreneur Leon Martin.

The teamwill play itsfirst game on Dec. 26.
