KW Titans sign point guard James Justice

The Kitchener-Waterloo Titans basketball team have announced their first player signing.

James Justice, 27, is a point guard who previously played for the Moncton Miracles in the 2015-16 National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) season.

Justice said he was excited to come to Kitchener-Waterloo and to work with head coach Serge Langis, who was dropped as head coach of the Miracles in February after team management said it was time for change.

"I know Serge is going to be expecting a lot from me and I am ready to produce. I am looking to do big things this year," Justice said in a press release from the team. "I am really excited to work with this organization and community; it is a great new start, and fresh beginning. I am happy that the Titans wanted me to be part of the team for their first season."

In June, it was announcedKitchener would be getting an NBLC team. Stu Julius was named general manager of the Titans in July, and Langis was named as head coach in August.

The KW Titans are owned by majority shareholder Ball Construction and minority shareholders Innosoft Canada and Elmira entrepreneur Leon Martin.

The team is set to play its first game Dec. 26. Tickets are already on sale.

Langis and the team's management are working to build the team.Earlier this month, the teamchoseWestern University's Greg Morrow as their first overall draft pick. Morrow led the Western Mustangs in scoring, rebounds and assists.

Langis saidJustice is a great choice to lead the team.

"James can obviously score the ball but what a lot of people don't realize is that he would much rather find his teammates for easy baskets. He's the kind of player that can score when he needs to and he can create for others as well. He's a very consistent player night in and night out which is probably the most important attribute a pro can have in my opinion," Langis said.
