Labour discussions between Region and GRT continue

The Region of Waterloo and the union representing Grand River Transit and MobilityPLUS are still working to come to an agreement.

The Region of Waterloo and the union representing Grand River Transit and MobilityPLUSworkers are still working to come to an agreement on a new contract.

Unifor Local 4304, who represents 644 workers,have been without a contract since the end of 2016 and negotiations for a new contract began in December.

The union will legally go on strike on March 20 if both parties can't come to an agreement, which could disrupt bus services.

The region says both parties have been meeting face-to-face and discussions are ongoing.
