Family, friends continue search for Nathan, man missing from Toronto since May 12

A 37-year-old man identified as Nathan has been missing for two weeks as of Friday. He was last seen at 7 p.m. on May 12 in the area of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue W. in Toronto. He has ties to Waterloo region and friends and family aren't giving up their search for him.

Nathan, 37, has been missing for two weeks, but family and friends aren't giving up hope of finding him.

They have set up social media accounts to spread the word and are distributing flyers in Toronto, Waterloo region and places in between,but have declined CBC News requests for interviews or comment.

Nathan was last seen at 7 p.m. on May 12 in the area of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue W. in Toronto. He is new to living in the area having justmoved there in the past year.

He previously lived in north Waterloo near the St. Jacobs Market and healso received respite care in the Bloomingdale area, just east of Waterloo.

Nathan has Down syndrome. He's described as fourfeet, six inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. It's not known what he was wearing at the time, but he has a full beard and moustache. Police have not provided a last name for Nathan.

He left his cellphone and wallet at home.

Police have received a number of tips from around the province but no confirmed sightings of Nathan.

Toronto police spokesperson Const. Victor Paul Kwongsaid in an email that officers continue to search for Nathan.

"This is very much an active and ongoing investigation," Kwong said. "We are following up on all the tips we are receiving and we continue to seek information from the public."

He added, "No tip is too small."

Guelph Police Service spokesperson Scott Tracey says if anyone sees Nathan, they need to contact police immediately.

"We encourage all members of the community to view the photos and familiarize themselves with the male's unique appearance and to keep their eyes open while out and about this weekend," Tracey said.

Officers in Guelph won't be taking part in any searches unless someone sees Nathan and reports it to them, he added.

Anyone with information about Nathan's whereabouts is asked to contact Toronto Police at 416-808-3100. If anyone sees Nathan, they should call 911 immediately.
