Snow squall watch issued for Waterloo region and northern Wellington County

Flurries are on the way for areas of Waterloo region and northern Wellington County, as Environment Canada issueda snow squall watch Tuesday morning.

Snowfall amounts of up to 10 to 20 cm are possible today with the worst conditions expected for lateafternoon and evening.

"Heavy flurries will start later this morning and last through tonight," Environment Canadasaid in a release, adding lake effect snow today could stretch intoearly Wednesday morning.

Snow squalls couldalso cause weather conditions to varyfrom clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres, Environment Canada said.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.Driversshould be prepared for hazardous winter driving.
