Stratford re-elects Dan Mathieson as mayor

Incumbent Dan Mathieson won in a race against Tom Drake and Andrew Fraser to be mayor of Stratford in Monday's municipal election.

Dan Mathieson will return for a fifth termas mayor of Stratford after winning Monday's municipal election.

Mathieson won with 7,837 votes or 68.9 per cent of thevote. Tom Drake and Andrew Fraser ran against Mathieson.

Drake had 19.1 per cent, or 2,174 votes while Fraser had 11.9 per cent or 1,358 votes.

Stratford also elects 10 councillorsat large. There were 23 people seeking those spots. Two current councillors did not seek re-election: Kerry McManus and George Brown.

The next council will be made up of:

  • KathyVassilakos(incumbent)
  • Tom Clifford (incumbent)
  • Bonnie Henderson (incumbent)
  • Danielle Ingram (incumbent)

  • DaveGaffney

The results announced by the City of Stratford will remain unofficialuntil they are certified in the coming days.
