Summer road, highway construction in Waterloo Region

Waterloo Region will see multiple closures in the coming months thanks to a combination of provincial, regional and municipal construction projects launching this spring.

On top of extensive closures for the Ion construction Waterloo Region will see rolling closures of major expressways including Highway 85 and Highway 7/8 for repaving and bridge repair.

Ontario's Ministry of Transportation construction:

• Nightly lane closures onHighway 7/8 from west of Fischer-Hallman Road to Courland Avenue for paving spring 2011 to fall 2016.
• Homer Watson Boulevard and Ottawa Street intersection closed for two weekends for bridge work spring 2011 to fall 2016.
• Nightly lane closures of Highway 7/85 from Lancaster Street to Krug Street for bridge work and paving spring to summer 2015.
• Franklin Street closed at Highway 8 for bridge repair in spring to summer of 2015.
• Guelph Street closed for road lowering and bridge for new Highway 7 construction spring to summer 2015.
• Nightly ramp closures of Highway 85 from Bridgeport Road to the King Street interchange in Woolwich for paving in spring to fall 2015.
• Fountain Street closed at Highway 401 for bridge work spring to fall 2015.
• Two full weekend closures ofHighway 401 at Fountain Street for bridge demolition and girder placement inspring to fall 2015.
• Periodic nighttime lane and ramp closures of Highway 401 from Highway 8 to Highway 24 for road widening an bridge work in summer 2015 to summer 2019.

Region of Waterloo construction:

• Periodic lanes closures on Weber Street from College Street to Union Street for road widening in spring 2015.
• Four overnight closures of Weber Street forpaving in spring 2015.
• Lane closures of Bloomingdale Road from Bridge Street to Kraft Drive for road rehabilitation in summer 2015.
• Periodic lane closures on Manitou Drive from Fairway Road to Bleams Road for road widening spring to fall 2015.
• Highland Road lane closures from Patricia Avenue to Westmount Road for road improvements from spring to fall 2015.
• King Street reduced to a single lane in both directions from Weber Street ot Conestoga Mall for road improvements spring to summer 2015.
• Full closure of Westmount Road heading northbound at University Avenue for a retaining wall repair in summer 2015.
• Lane closures on Franklin Boulevard from Main Street to Clyde Road for road improvements from spring 2015 to summer 2016.
• Lane closures on Franklin Boulevard from Highway 401 to north of Can-AmeraParkway from summer 2015 to summer 2016.
• Bishop Street lane closures from Conestoga Boulevard to Concession Road for reconstruction from summer to fall 2015.
• Hespeler Road, Water Street and Ainslie Street lane closuresfrom Eagle Street to the bus terminal for adapted bus rapid transit from spring to summer 2015.

• Borden Street closed from Charles Street to CourtlandStreet in summer2015.
• Ottawa Street closed from Charles Street to Mill Street from summer to fall 2015.
• King Streetclosed from CN rail tracks to Union Street spring to fall 2015.
• Charles Street closed from Borden Street to Victoria Street spring to fall 2015.
• Lane closures on King Street from Victoria Street to Francis Street in summer or fall 2015.
• Lane closures on Duke Street from Frederick Street to Victoria Street in summer or fall 2015.
• Lane closures on Francis Street from King Street to Duke Street in summer or fall 2015.

• Caroline Street closed from Allen Street to Erb Street until summer 2015.
• King Street closed from Erb Street to Union Street in summer 2015.
• Lane closures on King Street from Northfield Drive to Conestoga Mall spring to fall 2015.
• Lane closures on Northfield Drive from Highway 85 to King Street from spring 2015 to fall 2016.

City of Kitchener construction:

• Margaret Avenue closed from Victoria Street to Breithaupt Street for bridge reconstruction from summer to fall 2015.
• Stirling Avenue closed from Mill Street to RusselStreet for reconstruction in spring 2015.

City of Cambridge construction:
