Waterloo regional police asking for help identifying homicide victim

Waterloo Regional Police Service are asking for the public's help to identify a homicide victim. The Black male, aged 18 to 22 years, with short black hair was found dead in the area of Paulander Drive in Kitchener early Friday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS)are asking for the public's help to identify a homicide victim.

Police saidofficersresponded to the area of Paulander Drive after receiving a report of an injured maleat approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased male outside near a trail in the area.

The victim is being described as Black, aged 18 to 22 years, with short black hair, wearing a grey Nike zip-up hoodie and grey track pants.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Major Crimes Unit, General Detectives, and Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.

There has been a police presencethroughout the day and people are being asked to avoid the area.

In a tweet sent out just before 8 a.m., WRPSaskedanyone with information to come forward to police.

More information will be released when it's available, the tweet said.
