After an altercation between a Saint John Riptide player and the visiting team, which brought both teams onto the court, two members of the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans have been suspended.

The KW Titans have cut power forward Kevin Foster and Canadian point guard Tramique Sutherland after suspending them last week for their involvement in a melee in Saint John, N.B.

In a short statement released Tuesday, Titans General ManagerStu Juliusannounced the players had been cutfrom the organization.

"Due to the unfortunate incident in Saint John's the KW Titans have released Kevin Foster and Tramique Sutherland. At no time do we condone this behavior," the statement read.

"The KW Titans will move forward," Julius said in the statement.

"It is our hope that both players have learned a valuable lesson," a team spokesperson said.

Saint John incident

The two players were suspended after a road game Feb. 16 against the Saint John Riptide.

At the conclusion of the game, shoving, grabbing and an alleged kick took place, after which a punch was reportedly thrown by a Titan against a Riptide player. No charges were laid by police.

Video from the game shows players from both sides milling and pushing each other courtside.

Many players were wearing pink T-shirts at the event, promoting anti-bullying awareness.

The KW Titans continue playing on the road and arein Niagara on March 7. Their first home game without the two players cut will be March 11versus the Orangeville A's.
