Prime minister, Governor General in Waterloo region Tuesday

Waterloo region is clearly the place to be as both Governor General David Johnston and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are visiting the area Tuesday.

Trudeauwill visitVidyardin downtownKitchenerTuesday morning for a question and answer session with employees.

He will also meet with the Business Council of Canada just after noon before going toGuelphin the afternoon. There,he will tour the Frank HasenfratzCentre of Excellence in Manufacturing at Linamar on WoodlawnRoad West.

Ingenious conversation

Johnston will be visiting the University of Waterloo to take part in an on stage conversation about the bookIngenious, whichhe co-authored with Tim Jenkins. The book isabout hundreds of Canadian innovations that have made the world a smarter, safer and better place.

He and Jenkins will then visit Communitech Tuesday afternoon to discuss the book.

Meanwhile, Sharon Johnston will focus on mental health services in the region.

She will visit Lutherwood Children's Mental Health Centre in Kitchener to learn about the programs they deliver and speak with volunteers, staff and youth participants.

Tuesday afternoon she will visit Pride Stables on Pioneer Tower Road in Kitchener during a kindergarten riding class for persons with disabilities.

She will wrap up the day at KW Counselling Services Centre to learn about OK2BME, the the Gay Straight Alliance Network, and The New Mentality, three community programs that offer support to LGBTQ and youth.
