An Uber driver has been charged after he got into a fight with a taxi driver onFriday night in downtown Kitchener.

Around 11:45 p.m., a City Cab driver spotted the 55-year-old Cambridge man working as an Uber driver, and confronted the man. The two had a verbal altercation and then the City Cab driver walked in front of the Uber driver's car and squatted to take a picture of the licence plate.

The Uber driver then drove towards the cab driver and hit him lightly, causing the man to fall backwards. Then the Uber driver reversed and sped into oncoming traffic, and allegedly ran two red two lights on King Street.
