A vigil was held in Victoria Park Thursday evening in honour of the Indigenous children whose remains were detected at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

The Tk'emlps te Secwpemc First Nation said last Thursday preliminary findings from a survey of the grounds ofthe former school,conducted by a specialist in ground-penetrating radar, indicated that the remains of around 215 children were on site.

In Kitchener, hundreds of people showed up to show their respect and call for change.


Support is available for anyone affected by their experience at residential schools, and those who are triggered by the latest reports.
