Man pulled from Waterloo ravine on St. Patrick's Day

It took firefighters about an hour to pull a man out of a Waterloo ravine on St. Patrick's Day.

A listener sent CBC K-W a video of the man on a spinal board being pulled out of the treed ravine at about 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The man fell into a ravine just off Caroline Street behind a condominium building. The location is not far from where university students were celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Ezra Street.

Police were not immediately available to give an update on the man's condition.

It's similar to an occurrence in London, Ont., when a manat a house party at a fraternity went outside to relieve himself and fell into a ravine Friday afternoon. That man also had to be rescued and was taken to hospital.
