People ready to cast a ballot in the provincial election can head to advance polling stationsstarting Thursday.

Elections Ontario will have 10 days of advance polls this week, over the long weekendand into next week. That's up from five days in previous elections.

Jo Langham, manager of media and public engagement at Elections Ontario, says people who are registered to vote should start receiving their voter cards in the coming days.

"If they are on the voter's list, if they got that voter information card, then they just have to take one piece of IDshowing their name," she said. "If they're not on the voter's list, then they just take one piece of ID showing their name and residential address if they want to register to vote."

People who haven't received a voter card can download the Elections Ontario app. In the app, people can confirm their address and receive an electronic voter card, which can be shown at polling stations.

Advance polls aren't location specific, Langham noted; people can go to any locationwithin their riding.

"So if there's one that is closer to you at work, you can vote there, even if it's not the closest one to your home," Langham said.

The advance polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Not all locations are open for the full 10 days.
