Waterloo Region Votes 2018: Panel of candidates for regional chair

Jay Aissa, Jan D'Ailly, Rob Deutschmann and Karen Redman are the four candidates running for regional chair in Waterloo region. They sat down with The Morning Edition host Craig Norris to talk about the issues in a panel discussion.

The four candidates for regional chair came into the CBC Kitchener-Waterloo office in downtown Kitchener for a sit down panel with The Morning Edition host Craig Norris.

The conversation ranged across various issues including affordable housing, healthcare and the potential for amalgamation. A shorter, edited version of the panel conversation was heardon radio.

This will be the first time the Region of Waterloo will have a new regional chair in more than 30 years. Ken Seiling has held the position since 1985 and is not seeking re-election.

The municipal election is Oct. 22.
