Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Waterloo Region and Wellington County, as five cm of snow and gusty winds are expected.

Afternoon: Mainly cloudy with snowfall through the afternoon. Winds gusting from 30 to 50 kilometres an hour withlocal blowing snow. A high of -2 C is forecast, but with the windchill it feels more like - 12.

Evening and overnight: The snow is predicted to fall until after midnight with gusty winds ranging from 40 to 60 kilometres per hour. The overnight low is predicted to be -7 C.
