'Exciting growth' coming for Wilmot township, says mayor Les Armstrong says

The next four years will be about preparing for the growth Wilmot township will see over the next decade, says Mayor Les Armstrong.

"I think it's going to be rather an exciting term because of the growth that is coming down the road," he said.

The region is upsizing the township's waste treatment plan to accommodate growth and the township will be adding to its financial reserves to help it stay in the black when it comes to the budget.

As the township sees more people move to the area, they'll be maintaining the hard lines around settlement areas, also known as the countryside line, Armstrong says.

"Maintaining those lines is extremely important," he said.

Transportation challenges

In a year-end interview, Armstrong also discussed transportation options to the township and the changing face of council.
