Fatal crash east of Sarnia leaves one dead and two injured

One person is dead and two others injured after a collision Thursday morning on a county road east of Sarnia.

Police saythat a pick-up truck was travelling east bound on London Line while a passenger car was travelling west bound.

Officers say at some point, one of thevehiclesentered the path of the other.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the collision happened at about 8:45 a.m. along London Line, just east of Fairweather Road, in PlymptonTownship.

The driver of the pick-up truck, an 85-year-old male from St. Clair Township and the driver of thecar, a 62-year-old female from Sarnia, weretransported to a hospital with moderate injuries.

82 year-old MaryMargaret Mullen, the passenger in the pick up truck, was pronounced dead at scene.

London Line remained closed for hours as police investigated. It is now open to traffic.
