More heavy rainfall is expected forLondon, Ont.,and the surrounding area throughout the day Tuesday.

Environment Canada is calling for an excess of 50 millimetres of rain, with isolated amounts approaching 75 mm in the form of showers and thunderstorms.

The heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, the weather agency said in a rainfall warning. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Updated flood levels can be found on the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority's website.

In July, heavy rainfall broke century-old weather records set in the area after the remnants of Hurricane Beryl passed through. A section of Highway 402 closed due to flooding near Watford, about 60kilometres west of London, while inside the city, parks experienced flooding along the Thames River and Thames Valley Parkway.

The forecast calls for cloudy skies, along with a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon Tuesday with a high of 20 C. Showers are expected to end in the evening with an overnight low of 13.

Wednesday will be sunny with moderate gusting winds up to 40 km/h and a high of 23 C.
