Prosecutors have withdrawn drug charges against Melissa Facciolo, the wife of a man shot dead by London police days before Christmas last year.

Facciolo was facing four federal drug possession charges, but the Crown has withdrawn those because they no longer believe there's a reasonable possibility of conviction.

The charges were laid Dec. 27 and 28, 2016, just days after Facciolo's husband was shot by London police in the couple's Old South home.

Court documents show she was charged with possessing marijuana, cannabis resin, magic mushrooms and LSD.

Facciolo has made more than a dozen court appearances since being charged.

The drug charges were withdrawn Nov. 3.

Police descended on Maloney and Facciolo'sDuchess Avenue home on Dec. 23, 2016.

Inside, a police officer was hurt with a crossbow and Maloney was shot dead.

Facciolo was arrested but was released days later.

The couple has two young children.

The SIU is still investigating the police shooting.

Facciolostill faces obstruction and weapons charges.

Her lawyer, Jeff Conway, said the decision to drop the federal drug charges is appreciated.
