London man arrested in connection with fire in Old East Village, second suspect still at large

London police have made an arrest in relation to an arson in the southwestern Ontario city's east end earlier this week.

A suspect in a September fire at the same location is still at large, police say

London police have made an arrest in relation to an arson in the southwestern Ontario city's east end from earlier this week.

On Wednesday morning, the fire departmentwascalled to 737 Dundas St., where they quickly knocked down a blaze on the third floor of the two-storey, multi-unit building.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, police arrested and charged a 38-year-old manwitharson causing damage to property, and break-and-enter tocommit arson.

There were no injuries reported. Damage to the building is estimated at $250,000, police said.

Police are still on the lookout for another arson suspectin a separate incident at the same locationthathappened between 10:20 a.m. and 11 a.m. onSept. 5.

The suspect in that case is described as male, white, between 20 to 40 years of age, with a thinbuild, wearing a black hoodie with a white logo on the front, black pants, dark running shoes and a black and white baseball cap. He has a tattoo, possibly a cross, on the back of his neck behind his right ear.

Police are asking anyone who may have dash-cam footage, video surveillance, or any information at all, to call them.
